Developing Language

It is imperative to understand that addressing your child's language can be an extremely challenging task but not impossible. Children with autism are not deaf, but often recieve similar supports due to the difficulty in teaching language. We use the folloing strategies to foster language:

  • Encrouaging utterances

  • Immediate reinforcement

  • Social activity or movement as reinforcer

  • Use of momentum to encourage attempts
